According to the required speed, this chopper uses the signal from the controller & changeable voltage can be applied to the motor’s armature. This armature voltage can be controlled through a chopper based on IGBT. In this project, the motor speed can be obtained below or above the rated speed by altering the armature voltage. This controlling process can be done by changing the field flux as well as armature voltage. The main concept of this project is to operate the DC motor with separately excited through a chopper based on IGBT.
